designer-logosWe all seem to know somebody that can rattle off facts about high end designer ware like they work in the industry. It can seem baffling how one mind can keep all those designers and styles and seasons straight! But this kind of knowledge is really just a matter of knowing the basics and then keeping yourself abreast of any changes. For instance, in the world of handbags, there are several major high end players. These include Fendi, Chanel, Gucci, Prada, Hermes, and Burberry.

These are often considered the core handbag designers. There are also a crop of upcoming and newly established designers that are generally preferred by the younger crowd. This new group of designers includes the likes of Marc Jacobs and Coach. And while these purses might someday reach the level achieved by Chanel or Fendi, Coach handbags are still considered somehow less prestigious than authentic Prada handbags. It’s an interesting dynamic between new and old, established and upcoming. And it’s always in flux, meaning the fashion devotees must always be paying attention.

bu11590975a1With more than 150 years, Burberry has found world recognition with it’s Burberry Handbag. Thomas Burberry was a fabric genius credit not only with the classic Burberry Plaid, but also the invention of gabardine - a waterproof fabric - used first by the millitary and adopted by Hollywood.

Burberry Handbags are in demand by every fashionista around the world. When it comes to buying a Burberry handbag you need to be careful, like many other popular handbags, they are subject to frequent knockoffs

I read the other day an article about how to buy an Authentic Designer Handbag for less.

This article highlighted 6 steps you could take to find designer bags for less. However, to me - following this advice is bad advice.

Step One - suggested that you look for a discount store that are selling designer name brands

What a bad idea - most of these outlet stores are told by suppliers that their products are authentic designer name brands. I could assure you they are NOT!

Step Three - look for a serial number

Most manufactures that make these knock offs are forging serial number to past them off as an original.

Another step was to check out eBay - that’s a crap shoot all on it’s own. I wish you good luck if you so decide to go that rout. The other alternative it suggests was to go to T.J. Maxx - my question is “How is paying retail for an Authentic Designer Handbag going to save any money? - What kind of advice is this?

My advice is to shop online - but be careful the internet is inundated with website that sell nothing but replicas!!

You Get What You Pay For

gucci-hobo-bagShopping for clothing or related fashion items can be more than a little frustrating. Especially if you take your shopping quest to the internet, you meet a whole set of unique problems. First and foremost, sizing differs so greatly between brands. Just because you’re a six in one brand doesn’t mean you’re not a ten (or two) in another. And if you’re shopping on a site that doesn’t allow returns, this can immediately become a big problem. But the problems go beyond issues of size. Even with products like handbags, where fit is not as much of an issue, there are still things to be wary of.

The biggest issue with purchasing handbags online is to make sure you are actually getting what you’re paying for. If you’re on the hunt for authentic designer handbags, it can be a tricky road to navigate. With so many sites offering replicas nowadays and employing sneaky to outright dishonest methods to get you to purchase, it can be near impossible to purchase with any amount of certainty. So be smart about your purchase. If the price seems too good to be true, it is. And only shop where the items are guaranteed, and returns and refunds are accepted if you’re not happy.

fendihandbagminimama-authenticdesignerhandbags4uI work as a waitress at a nice sit-down restaurant, and while I definitely receive enough money to pay the bills, sometimes having enough for all the extra stuff can be a struggle. I saved up for about a year to purchase my Fendi handbag, and when I did have enough it definitely felt good to buy it. I took it out on the town when I went with a couple of friends, and they all commented on how beautiful it looked. In addition, I met a couple of cute guys and they both wanted to talk to me! It turned out that one of the guys worked just a couple blocks from the restaurant where I waited, and he was a frequent customer.

We saw each other a few more times over the next month, and now we’re together and I’m quite happy. While I can’t attribute my experience just to my Fendi handbag, it does seem to be more than mere coincidence I met him the first night I took it out with me!
