Cleaning a leather purse, handbag or other accessory can be a tricky proposition. As you’re undoubtedly aware, excess wetness can ruin a fashionable bag in practically no time. If your bag has begun to collect dirt and smudges, you should take a proactive approach - but don’t forget to check the manufacturer’s recommendations before doing anything drastic.
Begin by emptying the contents of your Burberry purse and wiping the inside with a soft, dry cloth. Most bags can handle a careful mixture of liquid soap and distilled water, but only apply it to the bag sparingly. If you’re working with a sponge, make sure it’s barely wet before touching it to the bag. Wipe the leather exterior with a damp rag and dry almost immediately with a towel. Think about the process of buffing a car to bring out its desired shine - cleaning a bag is very similar.
